About this course

This interactive workshop on Team Empowerment is designed to be highly interactive and participatory, using a combination of techniques, including case studies, small group exercises, large group discussions, and individual reflection. Participants will be able to use most of the practical exercises, tools, and resources both during and after the workshop to improve their internal teamwork and increase Team Empowerment.

TARGET AUDIENCE & POTENTIAL BENEFITS

This workshop is for anyone who manages a team of at least 5 people, whether as team leader, a manager, or manager of managers.

We aim to boost Team Leader effectiveness to improve team performance and increase sustainability and reduce burnouts, etc …... Improved employee engagement, increased cooperation, collaboration and cohesion on the team form the culture of the team.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

BY THE COMPLETION OF THIS WORKSHOP, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO DESCRIBE: 

- Characteristics of effective teams (TPI’s)

- How to handle difficult situations in team

HAVE PRACTICED SKILLS IN: 

- Supporting team development through its formative stages 

- Constructive communication 

- Conflict management

AND WILL HAVE DISCUSSED: 

- A vision of their ideal team 

- Principles and behaviors to guide team performance 

- A plan for monitoring progress toward achieving their vision 

TEAM LEADERS WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS WORKSHOP BY:

- Understanding what the key factors are that define successful teams – the cultural change which is needed

- Empowering their team to be more self-steering and have less resistance to change

- Encouraging an environment with room for creativity and safety to learn from failure

- Getting clarity on their own leadership strengths and areas of improvement

- Which steps to take when your team gets stranded

- Finding a balance between empowerment and control

- Learning basic conflict-handling techniques

- Knowing how to step away from a problem-solving reflex

- Understand how to prevent exhaustion and burn-out on their team, while still focusing on delivering the expected results

From several studies the 5 key guidelines to increase empowerment have been defined:

2. self-determination (choice)

3. influence (impact, personal superiority)

4. value (meaning and meaning of the work)

5. safety (trust, security)
